Strategic thinking

“Success comes to he who understands his resources, and possesses courage, moral values and strictness,” , Sun Tzu, Chinese strategist (550 BC), often considered as the father of business strategy.

Sun Tzu’s strategic thinking with its wisdom and good sense constantly stimulates his followers’ imagination. He set out 4 principles which are a driving force for mobility and action:

  • Anticipate in order to prepare the ground well
  • Evaluate both your strengths and weaknesses
  • Use both conventional and unconventional resources to surprise people
  • Constantly strive to captivate people by means of appropriate communication

His principles have been taken on board and adapted by great Western marketeers and strategists:

  • The professors at the Harvard Business School who created the SWOT model
  • Great strategists, such as Winston Churchill and Field Marshal Montgomery during the Second World War

Strategic intelligence is now a continuous process supported by research and information analysis with a view to making a strategic decision based on innovation.

Innovation is the key to success in a globalised and multi-polar market where all continents take part in a competitive race.
